All Good Things...

Friday was the BBCS East Coast. It was friggin' awesome! Six players played on nine custom pitches for six hours. The end result? Pro Elves for the win! Jason from Waltham, MA won the tournament with a spectaculat 2-0-1 (WLD) record and 1,660,000 gp Team Value. For his victory Jason won a Shadowforge Gridiron team (The Sisters of Destruction) donated by my friends at The Warstore.

I left the Con at about 12:30 am and headed into Providence to pick up my son and then proceeded home to eat something and check the emails. I ended up staying up until around 2 am. I headed for bed and passed out cold.

I was awakened (accidentally) by the wife as she was getting ready to drive the son to Quonset for his monthly drills (he's in the Nat'l Guard). So, four hours of sleep on convention weekend. Sounds about right...

Saturday I gamed until 10:30 pm almost non-stop. I went to the game store to play Warmachine with my anti-Game Con friends and got in a couple of games with them. I even played some Cosmic Wimpout! When I got home I played some Blood Bowl for the 360. At 10:30 I slipped into an exhaustion induced coma.

Sunday I showed up at the con and got the Fantasy tournament going. This was the best tournament I have ever run! I did nothing at all. No rules questions, no personality conflicts, nothing...it was great. In the end the Warriors of Chaos won the day, led by the diabolical Josh! Congrats!

Many of the local vendors were there and I went around throughout the weekend talking to all the shop owners and managers. I met the guys from the Dice Turret

(

www.thediceturret.com

).

I also met the guys from Battle Foam. They are cool guys and their product is awesome. I bought a couple of their small cases, and I can't tell you how great they were! I would highly recommend that all of you reading this go to their website (

www.battlefoam.com

) and check out their cases. They will put your army logo on the foam, they will make custom foam trays to fit your minis, they might even send you some cookies (OK that last part was me trying to be funny).

Malifaux seemed to the next big thing this year. There was a game club there (whose name I don't know, sorry) that were doing demoes. It looked cool, though I never got the chance to do the demo.

So, next year I'm thinking of running a weekend long Blood Bowl tournament. For Friday and Saturday players can play as many games as they can squeeze in, with the best eight players moving on to the BBCS East Coast 2 to determine the Champion.

For now though, I have to get ready for KublaCon. I can't wait.
